Everything Michael did was fabulous. His spirit was so powerful that from the very beginning in Gary, Indiana he was already larger than life. As you know, we've started a conversation which challenges the notion that Michael is dead. In fact, the name of our network, Michael Jackson Lives, speaks to that idea.
Like very few people before him, Michael is bigger now than ever before. Like few people before him Michael did not and will not die. Michael has DISAPPEARED. So, he's not "Gone Too Soon." He's right here with us now. His spirit may have transcended, but he's right here, right now, standing with us, proud and unashamed.
Many of us have had a hard time dealing with this concept. It's an old idea from the "Book of African Values," that states when a person leaves this earthly plane they continue to LIVE, as long as their name is spoken by the living. Obviously, Michael is still ALIVE, because there is no one spoken of in the news, on TV, the internet, radio and all other media more than Michael and it looks like his place is secure, as we get ready for a global birthday celebration in his honor on August 29th.
We're one of the promoters of this Global Birthday Bash for MJ. On his birthday we want to create a vibration starting in the Phillipines that continues to head west around the world ending in the Phillipines 24 hours later. Like Joshua at the Battle of Jericho Michael will be with us as we do a virtual march around the globe. This time the goal will not be to knock down the walls of Jericho, but rather to knock down the walls of tyranny, oppression, injustice and racism.
The life of Michael Jackson spoke to this battle between good and evil, more than anyone else's life in modern times. As we prepare for our part of the celebration in Kent, Ohio we're excited about the prospect of having a MJ look-alike contest that all RACES can participate in, because Michael looked like ALL of us at some point in his life. Look at the clothes he wore, with the accompanying bandoliers. Who was he going to fight? Us? I don't think so. In fact, his war was not with people, but with ideas. His war was with the idea of race, the idea of tyranny, the idea of poverty and the notion that there was nothing that we could do to stop these injustices, all of which are man-made.
He made his contribution and it was magnificent. He's still contributing to the betterment of the world through us. Now it's time to examine his life and look at how we can continue his legacy. So, it's not about finding MJ, it's about finding the MJ in us.
Join us on August 28-29 in celebrating the life of Michael Joseph Jackson. We'll be doing it here in Kent, Ohio, while you do it in your town. "Think globally, act locally."
