I am very proud to say that I am a Makeup Artist. Being a make-up artist enables me to provide a practical approach to beauty that the everyday woman can replicate. Rather than sticking to tried but true make-up models, I'd rather look at each client's face and personality and incorporate both into a new look.
My love affair with makeup can be traced back to my childhood creations with my mother's make-up. After graduating from Tuskegee University with a degree in Marketing, I never dreamed that it would lead me to a career where I would be able to not only practice the art of enhancement, but be able to meet new and interesting people.
A lot of hard work and a keen eye for detail led me to coveted positions with MAC and Nickelodeon during the initial stages of my make-up career. Currently, I freelance doing Makeup for several television networks including Fox 5, Nickelodeon, Oxygen and My Television Network. I also love doing print and film work. However, I still utilize my marketing abilities to research opportunities, spot trends and broaden my network. In this industry it is important to stay grounded, optimistic and abreast of the latest techniques.
Currently, I am fusing my educational and professional experiences into the art of writing. By sharing my knowledge about beauty through articles, I get to inform people to make better purchasing decisions. I absolutely love what I do!
When asked what is my favorite aspect of make-up artistry... my reply is the gift of being able to see beauty in many places and the looks on my clients faces at the end of a session.
